Curb those cravings!

Tonight, after reaching for (and eating) three vanilla cream biscuits and a cup of cocoa, I remembered a bit of advice I’d given readers at some point about resisting food cravings. Here they are – roll on summer!

5 tips for curbing cravings

  • five minutes before eating, drink a glass of water
  • Chromium Picolinate (200-400mcg) half an hour before each meal significantly reduces any cravings for sugar and may curb hunger
  • Eating enough protein each day balances blood sugar and eliminates cravings
  • The correct fats in the diet (real butter, olive oil, fish, etc) reduces the desire for carbohydrates
  • Avoid simple carbohydrates! These include sugar, sweets, malted products, bread and pastries. Aim for whole grains, nuts, seeds and more protein at meals.
